People employed to prepare drinks such as espressos are known as baristas, and they must be very knowledgeable when it comes to coffee brewing. There are critical skills they should possess if they are to excel in their jobs.
Before one can learn further skills, it is necessary to first have a basic understanding of making coffee.
For instance, a good barista must know things like the different coffee flavors and coffee describing words. In addition to that, they should also know how different characteristics of the coffee have effects on the final brews.
During the grinding phase, the barista should even feel the texture with their hands to determine if the texture is the desired one.
A coarse texture will require more tamping, while a finer texture will require light tamping pressure.
